The book,titled “Low-cost 3D Printing for Science, Education and Sustainable Development”,offers a practical guide to this rapidly evolving technology, giving an over-viewof current research on the topic and its uses in science education. 3D打印作為一種經(jīng)濟(jì)和易用型的技術(shù)，對(duì)發(fā)展中國家來說，是個(gè)好消息。在科研、教育、人道主義項(xiàng)目中，3D打印提供了振奮人心的機(jī)會(huì)。當(dāng)某個(gè)機(jī)構(gòu)決定在發(fā)展中國家中，準(zhǔn)備促進(jìn)學(xué)科發(fā)展時(shí)，ICTP就著手在這些區(qū)域內(nèi)，提高3D技術(shù)的適應(yīng)性。這本書的作者Enrique Canessa, Carlo Fonda 和 Marco Zennaro 希望讀者理解并開發(fā)3D打印技術(shù)的廣闊潛力。

The bookis divided into four main sections:

  -A detailed view on the technology with informationon how to create a 3D printed object, the related open source hardware andsoftware, the kits available in the market today, and a glimpse at future projects.

  -Applications of 3D printing in scientific fieldsranging from mathematics, physics to archaeology,space science, and medicine.

  -Innovative ways for the technology to beused in education.

  -A glimpse of the immense potential

thelow-cost 3D technology can have on sustainable development including plasticrecycling.

ICTPopened its own 3D printing facility on 27 February 2013, when it inaugurated its3D Printing Lab. The Lab will take center stage at an international workshop organizedby the book’s editors-with the participation of book’s authors and attendeesfrom developing countries, to take place in Trieste from 6 to 8 May 2013 andaimed to create awareness about 3D printing and its applications to science,education and development.

l  詳細(xì)分析在開源硬件和軟件的基礎(chǔ)上，利用市面上有的設(shè)備，如何3D建模以及對(duì)未來的展望。

l  在科學(xué)領(lǐng)域內(nèi)3D打印的案列，包括數(shù)學(xué)、物理到考古、空間科學(xué)和醫(yī)藥。

l  在教育領(lǐng)域，3D打印對(duì)技術(shù)應(yīng)用的革新方式

l  3D打印巨大潛力的展望

低成本的3D打印技術(shù)，可以可持續(xù)發(fā)展，當(dāng)然也包括塑料回收，。ICTP在2013年2月27號(hào)購置了3D設(shè)備，建立了自己的3D打印實(shí)驗(yàn)室。為了參加2013年7月6-8號(hào)在Trieste召開的會(huì)議，致力于建立3D打印的概念和在科學(xué)、教育和發(fā)展的應(yīng)用，這本書的作者和參與者們，建立了一個(gè)國際合作組，而這個(gè)實(shí)驗(yàn)室扮演了中心的角色。

我倒是想翻譯，不過我也是剛玩這個(gè)，對(duì)一些名詞把握不好。我后續(xù)會(huì)繼續(xù)翻譯的~
